NANHI KALI PROJECT
For Girl Children Education
Education is one of the most critical areas of empowerment for girls. It is an important tool that enables girls and women to participate in decisions that affect their lives and in improving their social status. Offering a girl basic education is one sure way of giving them much greater power, however this is not a luxury.
As per National Commission For Protection of Child Rights, around 40% of 15-18 year old girls were out of school and among them 65% were engaged in household work.
PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH
GIRL CHILD EDUCATION
1. Financial constraints
2. Household responsibilities
3. Problems associated with adolescence
4. Early and forced marriages
5. Preference of sons over daughters
6. Lack of functional toilets
7. Long distance to school and safer environment
Education has been a right for a decade now but Indian girls are not just beginning to claim the half of it. Girl child empowerment with the help of education will take the country towards development.
What we do – At IMTIAZ FOUNDATION, the NANHI KALI Project will be working to provide education , nutrition and safety to the girl child.
